Keep Missaukee County Safe.
That’s My Priority. Here’s How.
-
Substance Abuse
The ultimate goal of a prosecutor is not and cannot be to simply put people in jail or prison. If a non-violent, non-repeat offender, sincerely needs help, I will continue to support second chance and diversion programs to help. However, meth and other drugs are ravaging our community. So, either an individual will address their problem or they will be incarcerated for an extended period of time.
-
Domestic Violence
Serious domestic violence incidents or repeated calls by law enforcement will result in continued prosecution regardless of victim recantment. We have to stop cycles of violence for victims and the community.
-
Drinking/Drugged Driving
As long as I am Prosecutor, no defendant arrested for impaired/drugged driving will receive an offer of a civil infraction. All those who may be charged with felony drinking and driving because of their prior convictions will be and will be prosecuted accordingly.
MY PROMISE TO THE COMMUNITY:
No defendant regardless of their family, personal connections, wealth, etc. will be treated any differently while I continue to be the Prosecutor of Missaukee County. Each defendant will be looked at based upon the individual facts of their case and their prior criminal background; taking into account their age.
